I was thrilled when Blake first approached my daughter Amy and me a few years ago to say that "The Journey is the Destination," a collection of my son Dan's journal pages, had inspired him to start TOMS Shoes. Since then, the company has revolutionized the concept of corporate social responsibility by giving away a pair of tory burch flat to someone in need for every pair sold.
Last year, Blake delighted me even more when he said that he wanted young people around the world to be inspired in the same way he had been and asked if he could create TOMS' 2011 spring and summer collection using Dan's art and philosophy, "Safari as a Way of Life." We absolutely love the shoes -- and especially, the awareness that Dan's spark continues to light fires across the globe.
A true creative activist, Mycoskie has utilized his unique talents to transform the world around him.
Just as TOMS engages consumers in philanthropic giving with their buy one, give one philosophy (One for One), we have launched a retail initiative to benefit our foundation that is also inspired by Dan. The Dan Eldon Project fuels a generation of consumers who are choosing to purchase with purpose. By buying products from our Dan Eldon Collection http://www.shoes4womens.com  an apparel line featuring Dan's artwork and photography, you are supporting the Creative Visions Foundation, thus becoming a social activist powering to positive change.
You know it has to be for an important cause for a salvatore ferragamo shoe company to request that you go barefoot.
Charitable footwear company Toms Shoes, which donates a pair of shoes to a child in need with every shoe purchase, is asking  the world to go without ferragamo outlet on one day -- April 5 -- to raise awareness of the impact a pair of shoes can have on a child's life.
The One Day Without Shoes event launched last year, and more than 250,000 took off their kicks for the cause, with 1,600 related events taking place around the globe.
